Implant-Supported ProsthesesAs prosthodontists, we here at Harmony Dental, are happy to offer implant-supported prostheses. We believe that dental implants are the ideal solution when it comes to tooth loss. Single Tooth Replacement With an ImplantIf you are missing a single tooth, an implant-supported crown may be the best solution. An implant-supported crown usually consists of three components: the implant post, and abutment (support structure), and the restoration. We may recommend an implant-supported crown in place of more traditional options, such as a conventional bridge or partial denture. Learn more about single tooth replacement with an implant. Multiple Teeth Replacement With ImplantsIf you are missing multiple teeth, multiple implants can be used to support a larger restoration, such as a partial or complete fixed bridge. The type of restoration you receive depends on the number of missing teeth and their location. A multiple teeth restoration will improve your ability to properly chew and speak, as well as the aesthetics of your smile. Learn more about multiple teeth replacement with implants. Partial Fixed BridgeA partial fixed bridge is an excellent alternative to a traditional bridge or a partial denture. The bridge consists of a series of pontics, or false teeth, that are supported by dental implants. Typically, we place an implant for each missing tooth. If this is not possible, we may suspend a pontic between two implant posts. Learn more about partial fixed bridges. Complete Fixed BridgeA complete fixed bridge is used to replace an entire arch of missing teeth. Before your surgery, we may need to extract any remaining, problematic teeth. Most complete fixed bridges require a minimum of six to eight implants per arch. Learn more about complete fixed bridges. OverdenturesAn overdenture is another full-arch restoration that can be supported by dental implants. An overdenture consists of prosthetic teeth that are set in an acrylic, flesh-colored base that rests on the gums. An implant-supported overdenture is a great alternative to traditional dentures or even implant-retained dentures. Learn more about overdentures. All-on-4® Treatment ConceptAll-on-4 is a revolutionary new treatment concept developed by Nobel Biocare, the industry leader in implant solutions. All-on-4 is a complete fixed bridge that, as the name suggests, only requires four implants per arch, instead of six to eight. To accomplish this, the posterior (back) implants are placed at an angle to maximize the support from your jawbone. All-on-4, due to a reduced number of implants, can make the healing process faster and more comfortable. Learn more about All-on-4® Treatment Concept. Implant RestorationAn implant restoration is any restoration supported by dental implants. Thanks to technological advancements, implants can now be used to support a dental crown, a fixed partial bridge, and full-arch appliances. Learn more about implant restorations. Full Mouth ReconstructionSome patients have oral health problems throughout their mouths that require multiple treatments and procedures. If your smile needs a complete overhaul, you may qualify for a full mouth reconstruction, where the procedures you need are dictated by the number of missing or damaged teeth, and the severity of the issues. Learn more about full mouth reconstruction. TrefoilThe Trefoil is yet another product that comes from Nobel Biocare. The Trefoil system only requires the placement of three implants, which attach to a pre-manufactured titanium bar that is capable of supporting a full-arch restoration. This makes it possible for even more people to qualify for implant treatment. Learn more about Trefoil. Mini Dental ImplantA mini dental implant, as the name suggests, is a smaller version of regular implants, resulting in less hardware and a faster procedure. They can even cost about half as much as a traditional implant! Once the implant is in place, we will continue treatment as we would with a regular implant. Learn more about mini dental implants.
